RESOURCES / PRACTICAL GUIDE

Before you release a board design

Turn an open engineering discussion into a controlled manufacturing handover.

← All resources

General preparation guidance. Company-specific file acceptance, processes and capabilities require confirmation / 待确认.

STEP 01

Record the design intent

Document the electrical interfaces, mechanical constraints and operating environment. Identify which requirements are mandatory and which can change following review. A board category or layer count alone is not a complete manufacturing specification.

STEP 02

Close the feasibility questions

Ask the receiving team to review the proposed construction, materials, holes, routing features and assembly packages. Track open questions with an owner and a decision. The absence of an objection is not a substitute for written approval of a changed requirement.

STEP 03

Define the acceptance plan

Describe the inspections and tests needed to evaluate the finished item, including any customer-provided fixture or software. Agree reporting and nonconformity handling. Distinguish development validation from a repeatable production test.

STEP 04

Freeze the release package

Identify the approved fabrication and assembly outputs and keep a revision history. If changes occur after quoting or approval, assess their effect on materials, scope and schedule and obtain a new release acknowledgment before work continues.

BEFORE HANDOVER

Final checklist

  • Requirements and critical dimensions have a controlled reference.
  • Engineering questions have recorded decisions.
  • Inspection and test responsibilities are assigned.
  • The released package has one unambiguous revision.
